Position Overview:
Tuljabhavani Engimech Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Procurement to lead and manage our procurement department. This role will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, optimizing the supply chain, and ensuring the effective acquisition of goods and services to meet the company’s operational and strategic goals. The Head of Procurement will work closely with various departments to enhance procurement processes, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Knowledge of ERP systems is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Evaluate and enhance procurement processes to drive efficiency, cost savings, and value creation.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
- Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as cost, quality, and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve favorable conditions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage the procurement team, setting clear objectives and providing guidance and support.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs to develop team capabilities.
- Cost Management:
- Analyze procurement data and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Implement strategies to optimize inventory levels and reduce procurement costs.
- Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain and procurement risks.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or non-compliance concerns.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, including operations, finance, and engineering, to understand procurement needs and requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
- Support project teams with procurement activities related to new product development and capital projects.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance, including cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement metrics.
- Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
- ERP System Management:
- Leverage ERP systems to streamline procurement processes, manage supplier information, and track procurement metrics.
- Ensure accurate and timely input of procurement data into the ERP system.
- Optimize ERP functionality to enhance procurement efficiency and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or other relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are preferred.
- Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, with a strong track record of leadership and strategic planning.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in procurement within a manufacturing or engineering-focused industry.
- Familiarity with advanced procurement methodologies and best practices.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale procurement projects and initiatives.
